Post Op Craniosynostosis
Post-operative orthotic treatment usually begins well before the surgery. NiC Band™ Program
practitioners will evaluate your child, take measurements and explain the post operative orthotic course of treatment specific to your child’s diagnosis. Beginning 2-3 days post-op, your child is scanned with the latest 3-dimensional Class 1 structured light scanner and scheduled for Orthotic delivery within 7 days. Decal customization is available for the post operative cranial helmet. Follow-up appointments are scheduled at 1 week, 2 week or monthly intervals, depending on the starting age of the child. We monitor the child’s progress with follow-up scans showing measurement and correction comparisons to determine the need for subsequent helmets.
Usually, 2-3 helmets are required to complete the course of treatment determined by your child’s surgeon. Our office staff handles all insurance verification, medical documentation, authorizations, insurance billing and appeals for the services we render. We have an after-hours contact number for patients needing assistance, in addition, a monitored email platform is available to address non-urgent helmet issues.
